Chardonnay (white)
Cabernet Sauvignon (red)
Carl Wente, who immigrated from Germany in 1849 as one of the "49ers" during the California Gold Rush, purchased 19 hectares of land in Livermore Valley and founded Wente Winery in 1883. Even during Prohibition, the winery was permitted to produce wine for Mass, and has been known as "America's oldest continuously family-run winery" for over 120 years.
Chardonnay: This Arroyo Seco Chardonnay is described as a natural fruit. The juice obtained on the lees is aged in barrels for 12 months, giving it a green apple aroma followed by a graham cracker-like aroma.
Cabernet Sauvignon: Aged for 18 months in French and American oak, the Cabernet Sauvignon used in this wine comes from Chateau Margaux, and the plum and berry flavors are complemented by the silky tannins of Petit Verdot, creating an elegant style.

Sandstone Merlot (red) x 1
This set includes two bottles: a Chardonnay made by Wente, the originator of California Chardonnay, and a Merlot that boasts a velvety smooth taste.
The grapes for Sandstone Merlot are harvested from the gently sloping vineyards along the southeastern edge of Livermore Valley. With warm days and cool nights, well-drained sandstone soils, and winds blowing in from San Francisco Bay, Wente's favorable environment produces an exceptional Merlot.
The grapes are harvested individually from each vineyard and fermented in stainless steel tanks. To maximize the extraction of tannins and pigments, the grapes are pumped over twice a day. This process also allows the grapes to be exposed to air, resulting in a smoother mouthfeel.
Aged for 16 months in American, French and other European oak barrels.
In addition to fruity aromas of blackberry and plum, you can also feel the subtle nuances of toasted oak. The smooth tannins give it a long finish.
